For her special day, Grace Kelly chose the renowned costume designer Helen Rose to create her memorable wedding dress. The tight waist sash, statement sleeves and billowing skirt evoke such royal elegance, it truly captures the essence of an iconic bride.

City of Lights

Paris serves as the inspiration for this beautiful wedding board. We are loving the shades of light purple, blush and grey. Very romantic! The custom Eiffel tower stamps may be a small detail, but they add so much to the invitations. We also love the idea of sending a vintage postcard as your Save-the-Date. You can find some fabulous options through Zazzle. If you cannot make the trip across the pond, bring Paris to your guests with the ever-so-decadent gourmet macaroons from Laduree Paris. They are a perfect favor for any wedding!

We're Head Over Heels for Marissa Mayer

If you haven't heard of Marissa Mayer before, you will before the week is over! She was just appointed as the new CEO for Yahoo! and is already making headlines. As a computer science graduate of Stanford University, Mayer was recruited early on by search engine giant, Google, and remained there for over a decade before being named as Yahoo!'s new leading lady this week. Don't let her computer geek resume fool you though, this woman is full of fabulous style!

Rumor has it she’s a fan of bright Marimekko prints, and she once commissioned glass artist Dale Chihuly to build an enormous, vibrant sculpture for the ceiling of her San Francisco apartment. Our kind of girl!

So we weren't at all surprised to find out all of the flawless details of her wedding to San Francisco's Zach Bogue. Although there is only one published picture of the event, the exquisite details of the day have us wishing we had been on the guest list!

The festivities kicked off Friday night with a private show by The Killers at Bimbo’s nightclub.
On Saturday, Mayer walked down the aisle in a wedding dress by Naeem Khan with a bodice crocheted and embroidered in snowflake lace. She wore a veil by Carolina Herrera and Mary Janes by Stuart Weitzman. Bogue wore a Brioni tux, while the bridesmaids wore Reem Acra.
Following the vows, a fireworks display lit up the sky before guests headed to the reception at the Four Seasons.

World famous chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten provided a catered dinner of lobster and beef tenderloin and for dessert, celebrity cake maker Ron Ben-Israel created a masterpiece.
Mayer’s wedding photos were taken by celebrity photographer, Robert Evans, who also photographed the weddings of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.
The wedding was produced and designed by Robert Fountain.

A Rustic Wedding

There is something so special about a rustic wedding. The simplicity makes it easy to allow your guests to feel like family. Its also a wonderful way to really add personal touches to your big day!

I love the idea of homemade jam for wedding favors. Having been raised in the South, nothing tastes quite like it! I am also kind of dying over this cake. I saw it on Pinterest a couple months ago, and knew right away that if I had a country wedding, this would be the winner.
Don't be afraid to get creative with your color scheme. Instead of pulling straight from the color wheel, think outside the box! I love the corse texture of the burlap paired the soft elegance of the cream curtains. I love the mini chalk boards for the table numbers and the caramel of that delicious cake! They are small elements but they served as big inspiration for my overall theme.
The best part its that everything manages to stay really feminine but still captures that wonderful, rustic earthy feel!

Can you stand it?

So, I am not usually a big fan of a bride and groom seeing each other before the wedding ceremony but I just died when I saw these touching images. One of my favorite make-up artists, Mayra Rams-Sanabria of My Fabulous Faces, posted these photos of a groom, Ryan, seeing his bride, Christina, for the first time on Facebook and I immediately reached out to the photographer, Michelle Newell, for permission to share them here.
I am so happy that she gave her blessing because I know these will make you smile!

What do you think?  Do you plan to meet your groom before the ceremony for a photo session or are you going to wait for the ceremony?  I'd love to know!

The Brooch Bouquet

One of the most recent trends we are loving is the broach bouquet! It is a wonderful way to make heirloom pieces apart of your special day.

Fabric Flower Custom Wedding Bouquet, with rhinestone and pearl brooches, choose your colors

This is bouquet is made entirely of fabric! Use the lace from your grandmother's wedding veil or the lining from your mother's wedding gown as a clever and gorgeous way to add your "something old."

Don't be afraid to add jewels in with your fresh flowers. Its a beautiful way to dress up the simplest of details.

Country singer Miranda Lambert carried a broach wedding bouquet when she married fellow country boy Blake Shelton. This was a touching way to remember the women on both sides of their families.

I love the idea of splashing a pale color palette with the deep rich color of the rubies and the gold.

Whether its just a few or the entire bouquet, adding them will surly make a beautiful statement!
